The Jaguars dismantles Louisiana Christian University to pick up their first win of the young season on Saturday afternoon. Final score was 101-45.
HOW IT HAPPENED– The Jaguars jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the first three-minutes of the contest to cruise to a 25-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.
– The Jaguars outscored the Wildcats 22-10 to closeout the first half, 50-16.
– The Jaguars took a 43-point lead at the end of the third quarter to take control of the game, 74-31.
– The Jaguars scored an additional 27-points in the fourth quarter for extend their lead to 56-points for pick up their first win of the season, 101-45.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
– Jaguars went 43-of-68 shooting from the field (63.2 percent) and 9-of-17 from 3PT (53.0 percent).
– SU was led by Taylor Williams (8-12 FG, 1-4 FT) finished the day with 17 points, four rebounds and three assists.
– Aleighyah Fontenot (5-10 FG, 4-9 3PT), Soniyah Reed (7-9 FG) and Sirviva Legions ( 7-12 FG, 0-1 FT) chipped in 14 points on the day for the Jags.
– Ten Jaguars scored in the contest with four scoring in double digits.
– LCU shot 15-of-49 from the field (30.6 percent) and 4-of-15 from 3PT (26.7 percent).
– Southern pulled down 42 rebounds, including 31 on the defensive side of the glass.
– The Lady Wildcats registered 21 rebounds, with 15 coming on the defensive end.
– The Jaguars also went 6-for-11 from the free-throw line.
– The Lady Wildcats sank 11-of-19 from the charity stripe.
– Southern University finished the night with 16 steals and 36 assists.
– Baylor University came away with five steals and seven assists.

Southern will travel to Eugene, OR to take on teh University of Oregon in the SWAC-PAC-12 Challenge on Monday night at 9 PM. The will be streamed live on the PAC-12 Network.
